Sunday Morning- Nursery/Children’s Church
Time: Sundays after the singing portion of the service
Nursery Location: Nursery room down hallway near kitchen
Nursery Ages: 0-4 years
Children’s Church Location: Basement
Children’s Church Ages: 4 years- 3rd grade
We offer both nursery and children’s church after the singing. Nursery is for ages 0-4 and children’s church is for ages 4-3rd grade. (Some 4 year olds are ready to join children’s church and some are not- we leave that to your discretion.) You are always welcome to keep your children in the service with you- please just step out if they are being a disruption to those around you. We do have some busy bags available in the foyer with coloring supplies and books if you need help keeping little people sitting by you busy.
We ask that you check-in your students for children’s church in the foyer before the service. There will be a sign-in sheet that should have your child’s name on it if you are a regular attender. Simply check that the information is correct and put a checkmark in the “Parent Check-in” box on the left if you intend to send them to children’s church that day. If an update is needed to your student’s information, simply write the correct information. This change will not affect the nursery as we assume that you are bringing your child to the nursery and checking them in there at the start of nursery time. If you are visiting, we will have you fill out a student registration form on your first visit.
R.O.C.K. (Reaching Out to Christ’s Kids)
Time: Wednesdays, 6:30-8pm, starting September 3
Location: BCBC
Ages: 3 years- 8th grade
We are switching programs this year! We formerly used the AWANA program but now will have R.O.C.K. (Reaching Out to Christ’s Kids). Students in K-5th will be using curriculum from Truth78. Students in 6th-8th grade will be working through the New City Catechism and working on foundational Bible study skills. Schedules for the year will be available at the church starting August 31.
What’s staying the same:
- A focus on helping kids know Jesus and hide God’s Word in their hearts
- Meeting on Wednesdays from 6:30-8pm
- The structure of the evening (opening ceremonies, game/lesson time, time to work on Scripture memory, closing time)
- Program for PreK-8th grade. Age divisions will stay the same with only the names changing (Sand: 3s & 4s, Pebbles: K-2nd, Stones: 3rd-5th, Boulders: 6th-8th). The middle school group joins the high school youth group for special events.
What’s changing:
- No handbooks. Students will receive a Bible at the beginning of the year (or can use one they already own) and will be highlighting verses that they memorize. Please make sure your child brings their Bible every week.
- No AWANA bucks or store nights. Students will still earn dollars but we will track them on an index card at the church. Students will have an opportunity to order from a catalog that we provide before Christmas break and at the end of the year (most likely a Christian Book Distributors catalog).
Please remember to check your children in at the beginning of the night and come into the building to get them at the end of the evening. Please pick your children up promptly so everyone can get home or move on to their next activity.
High School Youth Group
Time: Sundays, 5-6:45pm, starting August 31
Location: BCBC
Ages: 9th-12th grade
The 6th-8th graders will continue to meet on Wednesdays as part of the R.O.C.K. and will join the older kids for occasional events. Each meeting will include dinner, worship, lesson time, and prayer time. We are starting out the year with a study on the topic of Sinner & Saint. We are also planning on getting some youth small groups going after Christmas- more details to come.
One exciting event on the calendar is the Vision Conference in Great Falls October 30-November 1. This is a youth conference for 7th-12th graders. Talk to Ruby if your student would be interested in attending.
